Summer is almost over and it’s time to start thinking about activities revolving around school. If your child attends a brick and mortar school, you might want to book out for the first week or two while they settle into new classes and teachers. That may be a good idea with homeschooling or independent study as well.
If your child is starting a new school or if you are concerned that privacy may become a problem, make sure you let the school, teachers, coaches and other school personnel that you don’t want your child’s picture or personal information posted online. This can become a serious child safety issue, so take care of it now, before your child’s safety is compromised.
This is also a good time to discuss social media and safety with your child. You want to maintain some control even if your children are teenagers if they want to be active online. Plan now and you won’t be surprised later on.
