The industry and child actor safety

There are laws and legislation to protect child actors, but until the industry takes on the responsibility of keeping children safe, it’s not going to stop.  George Mason University film professor Thomas Britt calls the industry out and shows the hypocrisy.  He compares child victims of priest abuse to those of the entertainment industry and explores why people who could protect children don’t do it.

This is a distasteful subject to some and shocking to others. People who have been accused of child abuse have helped to cover it up and cases are often squashed before they get to court.  When people do admit abuse has happened, they are quick to blame someone else, usually the child’s parents.
