In for the long haul

Parents often have no idea when their children decide they want to be professional actors, that their decision could last until adulthood. While a majority of child acting careers last five years or less, a number will continue acting without breaks until they grow up.

Are you ready for that possibility? We think we are, but if we are truthful, most of us can’t think past the current week when our children are young.  If your child lands a series, and it has happened to  our members, it could be a seven year decision.  Or longer.  If they are successful in film you may consciously have to plan a break for college with intention, or your child might not make it to college.

So, before you plunge in, don’t just think about an end date but have a plan if your child’s career has no expiration date.
