There is friendly competition between parents of child actors from different geographic areas. Canadians grumble that the best jobs are in the States, while U.S. actors feel that many jobs have flown North. Within the United States actors from anywhere else think all the jobs are in Hollywood, while LA actors are convinced they aren’t. Now it seems that a lot of American roles are going to the Brits, not for their beautiful accents but because they can successfully scrub their voices of identifying differences and sound just like Americans. Why is that? Are the British doing a better job than we are of training actors? We have some interesting theories.
