Our forum has warned people of the Pinkerton Agency run by Lynn Venturella for years. Over 25 claims have been filed against her by talent for non payment, as much as $78,000 owed to one person. She has employees who scout in malls and she has a history of not passing along payments received from jobs to her clients. Now, she is consulting to a new agency operating out of her old offices, Impression Entertainment Group.
It’s difficult for new actors who can’t find representation easily, usually because they are relatively new or have short resumes, so going with the one agency that wants you can be tempting. Before doing that, do your research so you don’t end up like the actors referenced in this LA Times article, Selling Stardom: A talent agent and a trail of unhappy clients.
